About Rise & Root Farm: Rise & Root Farm is a cooperatively run, women owned farm, sustainably growing vegetables, flowers, herbs, and edible flowers in the black dirt of Orange County, NY. Now in our 5th year of production, tomatoes have been our top seller from year one. While we specialize in heirloom tomatoes, we also grow several hybrid varieties. We grow about 30 varieties of cherry, slicer, and paste tomatoes each year.

Times:  10am to 12:30pm

Location: Classes are held at Rise & Root Farm. 168 Meadow Avenue, Chester, NY 10918

Getting there: If you are coming from NYC by public transportation, the Shortline Bus drops off on Saturdays at the Monroe Park & Ride at 9:30am. From there, you can catch a ten minute ride with a classmate or take a Lyft for $20 to the farm. We will help connect students ahead of time for carpooling purposes, if needed.

Cost: The cost of the course is $300 and will not be split up into individual classes. Students are responsible for their own transportation.
